Sweet and Spicy Pickled Peppers
Ingredients
1 heaping cup, sliced jalapeños
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup water
2 Tbs honey or sugar
2 cloves of garlic sliced
1 tsp salt
No messy canning equipment needed, just a jar with a lid, these will last in the refrigerator for a month.
place sliced peppers in a jar that has a lid. You may remove the seeds to lower the spice level.
In a small sauce pan combine the rest of the ingredients, bring to a boil
Pour hot mixture over sliced peppers. Allow to cool, place lid on jar, refrigerate. ENJOY!
When working with spicy peppers, it’s a good idea to wear gloves. The oil from the peppers gets into your skin, if you rub your eyes, it burns!
Note: The larger jalapeño tend to be milder. I’ve even had jalapeños that were not spicy at all! It’s part of the fun and the adventure, never sure what you’re going to get.
